Beefy Bothams Twitter hit by penis pic hack The Sun

SIR Ian Botham claimed his Twitter feed had been hacked this morning – after a crude picture of a penis appeared on his timeline.

The cricket legend denied he had uploaded the snap, which shows a fully naked man apparently reclining on a bed, with his face cropped out of shot.

The lewd photo was captioned: “What are you thinking....xx"

After it was hastily deleted, Sir Ian, 58, tweeted: “not very funny whoever did that...!!”

Match of the Day pundit Robbie Savage, 39, sent him a public message, writing: “mate think you been hacked”.

Sir Ian replied: “yes mate just changed my password !!! There's some idiots out there !!”

But the England all-rounder, nicknamed Beefy, was hit by a string of accusations that he had accidentally posted the snap himself – as the hashtag #middlestump began trending.

BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew, 54, said he had been put off having sausages for breakfast and had chosen granola instead after seeing the image.

And former England captain Michael Vaughan, 39, was relentless with his teasing – joking that someone had taken selfies “to another level today” before imitating the pose with his clothes on.

One Twitter user wrote: “no one believes you Ian, I'm afraid. Try 'text' instead of 'tweet' next time eh?”

Another said: “hahaha the old 'hacked' routine. Dirty old dog.” Someone else tweeted: “Not sure many are buying the damage control....”

Sir Ian – one of the greatest England cricketers of all time – is well known for his antics off the pitch.

In his autobiography, he admitted that during his last ball in first-class cricket he unzipped his trousers and let his “old man dangle free”.

He is also known for cheating on his wife Kath with an Australian waitress, Kylie Verrells, after meeting her in Sydney on New Year’s Eve 1998 while commentating on the Ashes tour.

He later titled his autobiography Don’t Tell Kath.

After this morning's snap mysteriously appeared, Sir Ian went on to thank the “hacker” for boosting his follower numbers, tweeting: “I’ve just got 500 hits in 20mins !!”
