A DAD has revealed how he was able to transform his living room into a sensory playroom for his son complete with a ball pit and slide.

Taking to the Facebook group DIY On A Budget, the dad shared before and after pictures of his handy work.

The before photos show the living room, that had acted as a spare bedroom, covered in ageing floral wallpaper as well as dated net curtains.

But after his hard work the room is virtually unrecognisable with white paint and rainbow colours breathing fresh new life into the space.

He had covered the floor with colourful foam squares and painted his son’s name “Oakley” onto the wall in coordinating shades.

The room also features a white wooden climbing frame, a green slide which leads into a technicolour ball pit and an abacus.

Captioning his post he wrote: “Converted front room from a bedroom for my little boy to give him his very own play/ sensory room for Christmas.”

And his post has received over 9,000 likes and hundreds of comments from fellow group members quick to praise his handiwork.

One wrote: “Omg, that is amazing, what a lucky little boy, enjoy wee man.”

Agreeing a second added: “Amazing! So wish I had space for this! Well done!”

“That’s fantastic. Well done” added a third.
