Parents slam Sainsbury's for 'sexualising children' by selling 'nude' crop top for kids aged 4

SAINSBURY’S has been criticised for selling a “nude” crop top for kids aged just four.

Parents claim the garment — similar to adult bras in Kim Kardashian’s lingerie range — “sexualises children”

The Sainsbury’s strappy tops for ages four to six are being flogged in its Tu clothing department at £5.50 for two.

One mum said: “I was in Sainsbury’s when I spotted what is basically a bra for a four-year-old.

“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It looked like it had come straight out of Kim Kardashian’s Skims range.

“I cannot think of a single occasion when a child so young would need to wear a nude bralette. Little girls wear vests.

"They do not have boobs that need supporting. Talk about sexualising children.”

US reality TV star Kim has bralettes on sale in her Skims underwear collection for £36.

Sainsbury’s has previously come under fire over its kids clothes including “leather effect hotpants” for three-year-olds.

A T-shirt for primary school kids featured a “strip club-style” slogan of “Girls, girls, girls” presented as a pink neon sign.

A Sainsbury’s insider said the nude tops were popular with those looking for “practical cover-up solutions without an emphasis on support at this age”.

Tu said: “Customer feedback is very important to us and we have not had any feedback like this from our customers.”
